Kurt has a bachelors degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the University of Queensland, where he also completed a master of philosophy. After his master’s studies, he worked for the DMTC as a research assistant investigating potential material and processing improvements for defence assets. Kurt’s main areas of research focus have been materials processing and metallurgy, especially in the area of grain refinement of light metals.
