PhD in Physics in 2008, University of Jyvaskyla, Finland, in the intersection of high energy (MeV) ion beam analysis and nanotechnologies
2008 - 2010: postdoc at Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland, development of high-aspect-ratio patterning of gold and diamond for applications in X-ray diffractive optics and plasmonics
2010 - 2016: Research Scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland; development of MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical) sensors and actuators
2016 - 2021: Senior Researcher at Monash University, Melbourne; Manager of plasma-FIB laboratory; Development of advanced electron and optical imaging methods and technologies for single molecule characterisation; development and microfabrication of microfluidic sample delivery and preparation systems; development of novel microptical elements, diffractive optics, and X-ray optics using focused ion beam milling technology; cryogenic microscopy and correlative electron, ion and optical microscopies
2021 - 2023: Research Fellow at MCEM (Monash Centre for Electron Microscopy); Development of advanced electron microscopy techniques for beam-sensitive materials (electron backscatter diffraction, electron channelling contrast)
