Fasseli Coulibaly
Monash University, VIC, Australia

Professor Fasseli Coulibaly is a structural biologist whose work focuses on the assembly and virulence of viruses. He graduated with a PhD in protein crystallography from the University of Paris-Sud in France in 2003 and, after a postdoctoral position at the University of Auckland, established the Structural Virology laboratory at Monash University in 2008.
His research helped advance our understanding of the assembly and evolution of RNA and DNA viruses and appeared in Cell, Nature, Nature Communications and Science Advances. He uses the latest developments in structural biology such as hybrid methods, microcrystallography and cryo-EM to analyse large macromolecular assemblies and in vivo crystals, with a particular interest in vaccine development.
