Dr. Koji Kato earned a Bachelor of Agriculture in 2001 and a Master of Agriculture in 2003 from Kagoshima University in Japan in the field of agricultural chemistry. Subsequently, he transferred to Osaka University in Japan, where he earned a Ph.D. in 2008 in the field of structural biology. Since then, Dr. Kato has been conducting research aiming to elucidate the functions of biological supramolecular complexes based on their structures, using X-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy single-particle analysis. He is currently working as a specially appointed associate professor at Okayama University in Japan, focusing on the structural and functional analysis of photosynthetic proteins.
