Takane Imaoka graduated from Keio University in 2000 and received his Ph.D. degree from the same university in 2005. He received the JSPS Research Fellowships for Young Scientists from 2002-2004 and then became a Research Associate at Keio University in 2004. He became an Assistant Professor at Institute of Innovative Research, Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2010, and promoted to Associate Professor in 2014
